Feb. 3rd, 2005 06:12 amWill thinks that he will not fall asleep quickly after tonight's events, but deeper inside he knows that he will. He is too exhausted to stay awake needlessly, worry or not; when he pulls the quilt over himself and closes his eyes, he is asleep instantly.
He sleeps well, and deeply, with no dreams that he remembers afterwards. In the morning, he wakes easily, better-rested than he has been in days.
He curls up, in the slanting morning sunlight, and stares at the glittering crystal Sign on his desk, heartsick.
